Erin Rametta has studied and taught
herself to play several instruments (guitar, piano, violin, dulcimer, Irish whistle and harmonica). Erin
is primarily a solo Indie artist who composes her own music and
lyrics. She grew up in South Carolina, yet spent
much of her youth in Virginia and North Carolina. Both her
parents were musical and taught
her to play several instruments. She relies heavily on her roots
to guide her musical direction. She is fond of Indie, Americana,
and Ragtime music. She has been through many 'musical stages' as
she puts it, that have strengthened her as a well-rounded artist.
Erin
began writing songs at age twelve and played local gigs in all the
major venues in Columbia, SC in her teen years. She performed on
local television/radio stations and was featured in local newspapers as
an upcoming artist. It
was then that Erin became more serious about the disciplines of music,
with a goal of becoming a recording artist. She earned a degree in
music at Columbia College for Women. She then
moved to Los Angeles and began an intense period of songwriting,
archiving her collection of songs and preparing
them for recording. To pay the bills, she started acting
and got many small parts in film and television which allowed her
entrance to the Screen Actor's Guild.
Erin's first demo record, In the Making, was released in June
2009. The record was co-produced by Eric Lilavois, singer for an
LA band, The Days In-Between. She is working on her next EP album, Quiet in the Stables which will reflect more of her
roots. She is self-producing it.
